당신의 영혼.

언젠가 책에서 읽은 인디언들의 생활 방식 중에 이런 것을 본 적이 있습니다. 인디언들은 말을 타고 아주 먼 길을 단숨에 달려가는 일이 결코 없다고 합니다. 달리다가 가끔씩은 말에서 내려 지금까지 자기가 달려온 곳을 한참 동안 바라보면서 사색에 잠긴다고 합니다. 그러고는 다시 말에 올라 타 갈 길을 재촉 한다는 인디언들. 그 이유는 앞만 보며 너무 빨리 달려가느라 자신의 영혼이 미처 따라 오지 못했을까 하는 염려 때문입니다. 뒤돌아 볼 일입니다. 너무 빨리만 달려가느라 지금 세상 소중한 것들을 잃어 버리고 있지는 않은지... 현실이라는 수많은 벽들과 부딪치느라 지금 더없이 귀한 것들을 함부로 내동댕이 치고 있는 것은 아닌지. 그것이 바로 당신의 영혼이 아닌지를. *Anonymity*
